Design Unlimited and Reichel Pugh Yacht Design unveiled a revolutionary 100-metre concept at the Monaco Yacht Show that will be the largest luxury sailing yacht ever built. Described by Design Unlimited as “utterly modern yet graceful” this high performance superyacht will be able to outperform most motoryachts and all sailing yachts of its size. Design-wise she really stands out, offering expansive yet private external areas fitted out for sunbathing, dining and general relaxation.
Down below her accommodation is spread across three decks with an emphasis on creating large spaces that still feel private. Neutral tones in the communal spaces will heighten the effect of natural light and the yacht will include a cinema, various relaxation areas and an impressive circular lobby with an open spiral staircase to the lower decks. The owners’ suite and a second VIP suite are complemented by four additional double rooms and two twin suites, ultimately providing accommodation for up to 16 guests, not to mention additional facilities for 12 crew members located forward.
"This is a groundbreaking project combining both the pioneering engineering required to build a sailing yacht of this unprecedented size and the thrill of introducing ultra-modern design and styling elements," Mark Tucker of Design Unlimited explained to SuperyachtDesign. "She is a yacht whose exterior spaces are as important as those inside, and one that is designed for individuals who like to enjoy the open air whether they are eating, relaxing or being entertained, and for whom the joy of fast sailing is an integral part of the onboard experience."
Promising to be an extraordinary yacht unlike anything seen before, she will be capable of high speed and lengthy global voyages while maintain the highest standards of luxury and comfort. With the initial phase of the design process completed, Tucker says that Design Unlimited is "now looking forward with anticipation to taking her to the next stage.” The yacht is currently being marketed exclusively by YCO, who describe the project as "the superyacht of the future."
