Lighting specialist, Lumotics Marine, has formed a partnership with Batchbuild, UK, provider of specialist manufacturing solutions and products to highly regulated sectors including defence, aerospace, medical and lighting.
The alliance will boost the R&D capability’s of the lighting control solutions builder and designer as well as expand its capabilities in bespoke lighting solutions on superyachts.
The company now says it is ‘capable of meeting almost any requirement no matter how specialised’ under the new partnership.
Lumotics and Batchbuild have already successfully created a total lighting solution in collaboration. Comprising an iPad app, touch screen software and a lighting system, the job was done in a two-week time frame ‘to the delight of the client,’ reports the company. Smaller prototype projects can be done in a turnaround of three to five days, they add.
Batchbuild provides specialist manufacturing solutions to a number of hi-tech industries. Its client base features QinetiQ, Ferrari and Thales. It combines engineering expertise with in-house manufacturing capabilities that allow it to create bespoke products with production runs from as low as a single unit up to several thousand.
Other valuable additions are the connections Batchbuild brings with major Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) in each of the sectors in which it operates. It designs and builds value-added products to complement and expand existing OEM systems, bringing new functionality and versatility.
In the lighting sector Batchbuild has experience in a wide range of applications including power management, LED lighting and EMC.
“This partnership transforms Lumotics into a true solutions provider,” said technical sales manager, at Lumotic, Pidge Scales. “While our own products ably cover most of the requirements that we encounter, this relationship gives us the added flexibility to create specialised, purpose-built technology to deliver exactly the capability that the client seeks.”
