The 300-berth marina for yachts up to 55m in Northern Cyprus gained the Association’s highest level, which measures standards of client service, marina facilities, environmental practice and safety procedures.
Director of Sea-Alliance, the marina's management company, Roy Klajman said: “This is a significant milestone for Karpaz Gate Marina and we are extremely proud of our team which has produced the exceptional standards required to achieve this award.
"Our attention to detail and comprehensive training of everyone involved with the marina has created a blue print for other projects in the future.”
In addition to praise for the staff, the Gold Anchor assessment report also included special mention of the location. TYHA assessor, Murat Tuncer said Karpaz Gate was “an ideally situated base in the heart of the area - the perfect place from which the Karpaz peninsula’s pristine waters, untouched bays and deserted sandy beaches can be explored.”
“Marina manager, Deniz Akaltan, and his crew were very friendly, helpful and professional. I believe that the marina with its charming ambiance and superb services deserves to have a 5 Gold Anchor rating,” he added.
As part of its 5 Gold Anchor status, the marina, which claims to be the first marina in Cyprus to gain the award, has also achieved ICOMIA's clean marinas award.
“We are delighted and extremely proud that we have achieved the highest level of award. We have invested a lot of time, work and energy to reach this high standard so that we are able to present an exemplary level of facilities and service in such a new sailing destination,” commented Akaltan.
