Fincantieri has revealed that it has signed the contract to construct a new seven decked superyacht of an impressive 140m LOA, currently identified as “Hull # 6218”. The concept and design of the vessel comes from the celebrated office of Espen Oeino, with the project developed by Fincantieri Yachts, the dedicated business unit within the Fincantieri Group. The order was placed through brokerage house Camper & Nicholsons International.
“A long-term success in the large yacht business is one of Fincantieri’s strategic priorities, which we have pursued in recent years with full commitment by all our team..” commented Mr. Giuseppe Bono, Fincantieri Chief Executive Officer “Our commitment has been rewarded with this prestigious new order, which represents for us an important step on the path to increasing the strength of our position in the market.” According to Fincantieri, the yacht has been designed and will be built according to the SOLAS safety rules and regulations. Environmentally friendly solutions will be incorporated within the design, with the vessel also featuring internal sea water dockage for a 14m tender and six pools up to 8m in length. The interiors will be designed by designers Alberto Pinto and Laura Sessa. Again, according to the company, the yacht will be one of the most technically advanced yachts in the world, although further details on the vessel and its design are subject to strict confidentiality.

“Hull # 6128” will be built at Muggiano shipyard (located in the North-West of Italy, between Genoa and Pisa on the Ligurian seafront). The yard is currently working on another mega-yacht, “Hull # 6154”, a 134m yacht to be delivered next summer.
