Final stage of OneOcean development underway

OneOcean Port Vell is to embark on the final stage of its development project. A further €5 million will be spent on ‘infrastructure, landscape, lighting and security.’
This investment translates to an overhaul of the Moll Pescadores section of the marina, with the establishment of eight additional berths for superyachts of 30-80m and access to the main site and amenities.
The development programme will last eight months, and its conclusion in August 2016 will also signal the end of the five-year project that is the construction of OneOcean Port Vell, at a cost of €80 million to the marina’s owner, Salamanca Group.
Martin Bellamy, chairman of OneOcean, said of the announcement: “The exceptional results achieved in one year after launching OneOcean Port Vell have allowed us to move swiftly to commence the works for the last stage of the marina’s redevelopment.
“Already at 80 per cent capacity this winter, this expansion enables us to meet the growing demand for berthing superyachts in the Mediterranean and positions Barcelona as the leading superyacht destination with unrivalled marina facilities.”
