Local reports have stated that police in the Dominican Republic found a large quantity of cocaine and heroin in a raid on a villa and a motoryacht docked in La Romana on 9 November, 2015.

La Romana, Dominican Republic

While many reports have speculated that the villa and yacht were property of the Flores family, linked to Venezuela’s First Lady, the Dominican national drug control agency has dismissed the claims as speculation.

The yacht in question has been reported to be the Bahamas registered 41m motoryacht The Kingdom. Six individuals have allegedly been arrested as a result of the raid, although their connection to the yacht has not yet been specified and it is not confirmed whether any were the yacht's crew.
