This Sunday 5 June, nearly 40 representatives from the superyacht industry will run for homegrown charity, Yacht Aid Global (YAG). The 10km run is held in London’s Regents Park and kicks off at 9.30am.
The runners are now seeking the support of the industry in donating to this exceptional cause. A charity close to the industry’s heart, YAG delivers much-needed medical and educational supplies to remote communities worldwide via superyachts. Captain-turned-yacht agent Mark Drewelow set up YAG in 2006 wanting to support the communities who had so readily assisted him and his crew on shore. So far, deliveries have been carried out throughout the Americas, from Alaska to Chile, all around the Pacific Region, and south-east Asia on superyachts. The superyachts who have helped bring aid to communities, which is done en route to their destinations, include Slojo, Seljm, Ice, Rosehearty, Beagle V, Georgia, Big Fish, Seven C’s, LTC, Janice of Wyoming, Steadfast, and Triple Seven.
Your donation could help fund further aid deliveries and purchase vital medical and school equipment. These photos show previous projects in action.
Named the TCR Yacht Aid Global Gold Challenge, the run also marks The Crew Report magazine’s 50th edition celebrations. Organisers the Yacht Report Group, are sending dozens of their team to run alongside many representatives from the industry. Companies sending runners are: Aegis, Hill Dickinson, Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty, EYOS Tenders, Ocean LED, Arc and Co and Complete Yacht Solutions. Clyde & Co, the superyacht law firm with offices across the globe, are sending a team of three to run and are sponsoring the runners’ T-shirts.
