Continued growth signals a new chapter for YPI CREW

YPI CREW continues to strive with their latest opening in Antibes…

Yacht crew recruitment agency, YPI CREW, celebrates a new chapter with the opening of its second office in Antibes. Further to moving into its current office location on Avenue de la Liberation in 2013, YPI CREW has recorded a 68 per cent increase in job requests since 2013, resulting in a necessary expansion to accommodate the growing team necessary to account for the increased demand.

Commenting on the new opening, and highlighting the importance of workplace ambience, Laurence Lewis, Director of YPI CREW, said “Since day one in 2002, I’ve had a clear vision and my goal remains to have a premium company, offering the best service for our clients and candidates, the best working environment for the YPI CREW team and the best relationship with our shareholders”.

The increase of activity was most notably visible within the interior department, which has recorded a 102 per cent increase in job requests since 2013. This paved the way for two additional staff members in the department, headed by Helen Papamichael, and eludes to a growing interest from within the industry for interior sector roles.

“This is an exciting time for me,” comments Papamichael. “Sourcing new talent is key to the Chef and Steward/ess department, which has evolved so much since I started in 2002,” continues Papamichael.

YPI CREW’s continued expansion is visible in their recent geographical movements. Having moved out of their office in rue Honore Ferrare in 2013, they have now reclaimed this office space for the engineering team, headed by Jacqui Young, who has worked for YPI CREW for over a decade. “From joining Laurence in 2006 to take sole responsibility for recruiting engineers, it is a real milestone to re-open the office now for the Engineering Department” commented Young.

This news follows the acquisition of the majority stake in YPI CREW by the Shulte Group in December 2018.

At this year’s edition of The Superyacht Design Forum from 25th – 26th June, our session, ‘Think about the poor crew!’, will delve into all things crew related, from life on board, to the ways in which superyacht designers can play an important role in a crew member’s work and life balance.
