Andrew Weir Yacht Management (AWYM) has launched a new website in
response to the company's research on what superyacht industry
professionals require from yacht management services.
The new site is aimed at crew, captains and owners, and covers yacht management, project management and yacht services. Incorporated within these sections is information for and on crew, as well as maintenance, purchasing, pre-inspection, ISM/ISPS development services, new build, conversion, refit, regulation, insurance and accounting
"At AWYM we have always taken customer care very seriously, talking and listening to our international clients and taking their views onboard. Over the past 12 months we have conducted a series of informal research studies and these results have influenced the new website design and content," says AWYM managing director, Stephen Corkhill.
AWYM hopes its new website will provide a resource for industry professionals
As part of its yacht management service, AWYM recruits and manages crew; both senior crew and those new to the industry. "Andrew Weir have a history of introducing cadets to a seagoing career in the marine industry and are pleased to be able to carry over this experience to yachts under management. Where owner’s requirements dictate, AWYM will be able to offer cadet berths on managed yachts and passenger vessels. Full training and appropriate sea time will be provided in conjunction with crew management," says Corkhill.
AWYM is part of Andrew Weir Shipping Ltd, a London-based company with over 120 years experience in the maritime industry. As well as yacht management, the company also manages a variety of vessels, including boutique cruise ships and the on-going management of the Christina O.
