Turquoise Yachts is a picture of health
It appears Turquoise Yachts is a picture of health as it embarks upon a new era under owner Dr Al Barwanhi. Speaking to SuperyachtNews.com at FLIBS, CEO Mehmet Karabeyoglu outlined a build schedule that appears very exciting for the revamped Turkish shipyard.
Turquoise currently has a 47m and a 77m under construction, set to be delivered in 2016 and late 2017 respectively. In addition to those current projects, keels are being laid towards the end of 2015 for a 60m, 72m and 80m.
Karabeyoglu also alluded to an upcoming 66m collaboration with Nuvolari Lenard that he termed "very futuristic". The design is set to feature a striking vertical bow, with naval architecture from Azure.
The yard is also expanding its hull construction shed, which will be transformed into a 160x40m hall, complemented by a new floating dock that will assist with the transportation of hulls to the finishing facility an hour's journey away.
"We can do anything up to 85 metres," Karabeyoglu explained. "It doesn't have to be one of our designs but their advantage is that people don't want to wait anymore."
"We can keep the clients happy", he said when questioned about the possibility of collaborating with sister company Oceanco. The indication then, is that the two will operate completely independently.
A Monaco office will be run by new sales manager, Cristian Schwarzwalder, so that the yard "is closer to Europe".
