Sunseeker reports Monaco success

Sunseeker International has confirmed the signing of a 28m, with four further deals pending after a very successful Monaco Yacht Show, says Sean Robertson, sales director for the Poole-based yacht and sportboat builder.
“2012 has been an extremely successful show,” Robertson told SuperyachtNews.com exclusively. “The lure of that show is impressive. Everybody loves to go to Monaco and it’s an easy show to get around,” Robertson said. “We definitely saw more Asian and American clients than at Cannes. We’ve sold boats from the show, so it’s really been great.”
“A few years ago we felt as though the show was focused more on charter and resale brokerage than new orders, so we stopped showing yachts in water and focused solely on the stand,” he continued. “But in 2010 we sold a Predator 74 and a Sunseeker 88 out of the show. Then last year we sold a Predator 92 sport and a Predator 115. So this year we brought down the 34m Black and White, built in 2010. Now with this year’s tally, After this year's confirmed sale and potentials, we're feeling very positive about the return on investment."
Walking the show this year was former F1 boss and current BBC television F1 pundit Eddie Jordan, who now lives in Monaco and does charity work for the royal family there. Jordan owns two Sunseeker yachts and is the current client for the first Sunseeker 155, largest and newest of the builder’s offerings. Jordan opened the show for Sunseeker at the Southampton Boat Show last month, drawing impressive crowds.
We'll be following the 155 in build and shall report on it in the new year.
