Trinity Yachts unscathed by hurricane, full operations return Monday

Trinity Yachts has issued a statement that its facilities in New Orleans, LA and Gulfport, MS have survived the recent inclement weather conditions caused by Hurricane/Tropical Storm Isaac with little or no damage.
Although the New Orleans yard was directly hit by a Category 1 hurricane, the recently completed floodgates protected the city from a storm surge of over three metres. Trinity is located inside the new levee protection system, so experienced only 0.5m of water flowing over the bulkheads of the yard, causing no issues for the facilities. There was a little damage to the roof panels of the covered wetslip, but at the time this was empty. Presently the city of New Orleans is without power but as soon as this returns, the shipyard will restart operations, which is expected to be on Monday.
M/Y Mia Elise was in the shipyard at the time of the hurricane for maintenance and modification work but her captain, Ron Wood, and his crew made the necessary preparations and she survived unscathed.

This image was taken prior to the recent hurricane hitting the city.
In 2006, after the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina, Trinity Yachts had to temporarily move its New Orleans operations and workforce away from the site to Gulfport while the significant damage was repaired. The timely new upgrades to the New Orleans infrastructure must have provided significant relief for all those involved with the Trinity Yachts facility, as well as the wider community.
