Alcaidesa Marina wins two awards

Alcaidesa Marina, on the border of Gibraltar and Spain, has scooped two awards in recognition of its client service and commitment to the environment.
These are the Five Gold Anchors award, accredited by The Yacht Harbour association (TYHA), the highest level attainable in the award scheme which endorses a marina's level of customer service and quality assured berthing. Its second award is the Blue Flag, a voluntary eco-label that works towards the sustainable development of beaches and marinas through the outlining of strict criteria encompassing items such as water quality, environmental management, and safety.
“We take great pride in being awarded with the Five Gold Anchors and Blue Flag as we believe it’s a reflection of our staff’s commitment to deliver the highest level of customer service and environmental standards along with our continuing investment programme," said Tony Valbuena, marina manager at Alcadaisa.
"We have an exciting programme of events over the next few months and we look forward to welcoming new and old customers during the summer months and we will be pleased to show them our new Awards!"

The marina, overlooked by the iconic Rock of Gibraltar, offers 325 deep water berths for vessels up to 80 meters LOA. Its main draw for superyachts is its ideal location as a stop off for yachts preparing for or returning from, transatlantic crossings. It also has the advantages of being only a ten minute walk from the airport of Gibraltar, facilitating crew transfers and provisioning, and a yacht lifting facility for yachts up to 25m.

"Alcaidesa marina is a deserving candidate of our highest award, it is a new development with excellent facilities and a genuine interest in the berth holders experience," said Gareth Turnbull TYHA manager.
