'Phocea' crew pleads guilty in Vanuatu

Crew of 75m detained sailing yacht Phocea have pleaded guilty to charges of breaching the Vanuatu's customs and immigration laws, it was reported today on Radio New Zealand.
Thirteen crew members have pleaded guilty and the yacht's captain, Richard Malaise, faces 'multiple charges' said the report.
Phocea, built in France in 1976, was detained by Vanuatu authorities after she was raided by police, who confiscated items including official documents with forged signatures. It is thought the yacht is involved in a passport fraud and drugs trading operation.
The owner is a Vanuatu nominated honorary consul to Vietnam who left the country just before the raid.
