Overmarine Group to cater for larger superyachts with new facility

After making the decision two years ago to develop and increase awareness of the Overmarine Group brand, the Italian shipyard has announced that it is expanding its facilities to accommodate new plants in Pisa, Italy. With the facility able to cater for superyacht constructions of up to 70m, the group will expand its horizons to the larger superyacht market.
This expansion is the accumulation of two years’ worth of attempts by the group to strengthen brand awareness, which saw the selection of offices and partners in strategic areas, as well as investments into the Mangusta range which has three new models currently under construction: the Mangusta 110, the tri-deck displacement Mangusta Oceao 148, and the new Mangusta 205 project.
The purpose-designed construction facility, currently undergoing completion, comprises two plants located in the new yachting area of Darsena Pisana, five minutes from the airport, and is to be used for the construction of steel and aluminium motoryachts.

The facility covers 22,000sqm, of which 9,000 sqm is under cover. The construction hall at the new facility rises to 20m and is divided into four bays, which will allow the simultaneous construction of superyachts of up to 70m in length.
Served by a wharf on the canal that runs directly to the sea, the facility is equipped with bridge cranes, aerial work platforms, suction systems, well-equipped metal carpentry and joinery departments, as well as a travel lift for launching. The group has called the facility “a real state-of-the-art structure that allows Overmarine Group to extend its build length and enter the superyacht market.”
