Superyacht Interiors New Zealand looks to other sectors

The state of the economy over the past few years, and particularly the past 12 months, has been damaging to most industries, the superyacht arena among them. However, Auckland-based superyacht design company Superyacht Interiors New Zealand (SINZ), in its desire to remain solvent in a niche market, has ridden the wave and fought back, turning the troublesome economic downfall into a reason for the company’s branching out into other markets.
The designer and manufacturer, whilst continuing to work in the superyacht arena, has expanded its horizons and transferred the world of superyacht interiors to the Manhattan skyline. With superyacht owners invariably owning luxury properties, Superyacht Interiors New Zealand has diversified into the luxury apartment sector, boosting activity, whilst maintaining its 'bread and butter' superyacht interior work.
“We put our thinking caps on and we got to work,” said Mohammed Khan, managing director of SINZ. “The crisis has presented us with an opportunity to make sure our life and our future is much rosier.”

Though we can be confident that the superyacht market will get back on its feet, we cannot be confident when. Superyacht Interiors New Zealand has not shied away from the market’s current limbo-like state, but instead, proactive in its desire to remain solvent, has jumped at a new business venture, and one that has so far been successful. Though the niche nature of the industry is perhaps one of its key appeals to many, the diversification into other industries could well be the catalyst to maintaining, and even increasing, production levels until the superyacht market gets back on its feet.
