Guadeloupe’s only superyacht refit company launches floating dock

Guadeloupe’s only refit facility for superyachts over 80m has launched a new berthing facility which will give it even more space to accommodate its vessels.
The project management team dedicated to superyacht repair, International Marine Management (IMM) has announced the launch of its 45m floating dock, to be operational by mid-summer, adding considerably to its current capacity. IMM has 300m of quay space for alongside berthing and eight places with mooring buoys for yachts up to 130m. The addition of the floating dock will mean an added number of yachts up to 700GT, 50m LOA and 17m wide can be accommodated.
IMM is ideally located for sailing and motoryachts which are attracted to the island for its breathtaking cruising potential and proximity to St Maarten and Antigua. Its location in Pointe a Pitre, the island’s largest city, means it also attracts a quotient of racing yachts, as the city hosts the finale of the four yearly Route du Rhum race, next taking place in 2014, and is 45 miles from Antigua, where the superyacht cup race starts.
IMM'S floating dock will be operational by mid-summer
The team launched the Guadeloupe facility in 2010, aiming to bring ‘European standard refits to the heart of the Caribbean.’ It services a niche market complementing city based Marina Bas du Fort which offers repairs for smaller yachts although with berthing available for yachts up to 70m.
The addition of the floating dock indicates it anticipates a demand for services launching as it is at the start of the summer charter season.
