Maritime service provider Imtech Marine and satellite communications company ITC Global have announced a long-term partnership which will see the two companies provide a VSAT satellite communications network to the global maritime industry.
The alliance will see Rotterdam-based Imtech Marine supply, install and service the on board maritime electronics and communication systems, whilst Florida-based ITC Global will design, supply and provide engineering support for the global satellite communications network.
Joe Spytek, chief executive officer of ITC Global praised this stage of the two companies’ already strong relationship. “We are delighted to have formalised our historical working relationship with Imtech Marine.”
The two companies have developed a global VSAT network that delivers reliable satellite communications to the maritime industry, using the Imtech Marine global VSAT/Ku-Band network, as well as automatic beam switching along all major shipping lanes.

“Imtech Marine has an extensive global network and vast knowledge and experience in the maritime market,” said Managing Director of Imtech Marine Eric van den Adel. “ITC Global has extensive knowledge in setting up private, customised VSAT networks. Together, we are able to offer our customers in the maritime market unparalleled service and systems.”
Van den Adel also noted that connectivity packages were just one of many on offer. “We also have the possibilities to carry out remote monitoring and maintenance through our Global Technical Assistance Centres, which are available around the clock. In addition, our portfolio of services is supported by our global network, which now consists of eighty-nine locations worldwide.
"Ultimately, all of our services aim to help customers reduce their total cost of ownership.”
