Update: Sunreef shipyard starts three shifts

Sunreef Yachts has started three production shifts in an assembly hall adjacent to the one that was destroyed by fire on 19 January.
The increased shifts will help minimise delays in deliveries, which the yard says should not exceed three months. “All our departments are working at 100% now,” said the yacht-builder’s representative Ewa Stachurska in an email. “We have lost some part of the production but the key moulds have been saved, which means we will be able to exhibit our new builds, the 60 Sunreef Power and Sunreef 82 Double Deck at the Cannes and Monaco Shows this year.”
The hulls of both yachts are currently being prepared for vacuum infusion, scheduled for next week. The moulds of the flybridge will be cut on a CNC milling machine and delivered to the shipyard in the coming days. The infusion of the wet deck for both models is set for mid-February. The owners have approved all interior design, with furnishings being assembled in the woodwork and upholstery departments, which were not affected by the fire.
Paweł Adamowicz, mayor of Gdansk, and other regional dignitaries visited the second production hall after the fire to show their support to the yard and Francis Lapp, CEO of Sunreef Yachts.

According to the yard, all contracts in progress at the time of the fire have been maintained and the order book is full until August 2012. “Our clients have been extremely supportive and they have all agreed to wait longer for their yachts,” Stachurska said. “And we are about to sign a new superyacht contract.”
The cause of the fire is still under investigation and you can read the story from 20 January about the fire here.
